If the immune system is weakened or malfunctioning, the invading microbes can easily establish a foothold in our body and open a window for disease to enter. Antibiotics can often be used to stop the infection at this point, but chronic use of antibiotics weakens the immune response.
Furthermore, antibiotics are useless against viruses, pollens, and most parasites. They are definitely useless against malignant (cancerous) cells. It is much better to resist infections from within with a fully functioning immune system and not become ill in the first place. This is where herbs like Reishi are now attracting the attention of the medical community.
Have you ever noticed some people just never seem to get sick? These are people who have very strong, balanced immune systems. And you can be one of those people with the proper nutrition. Many chemical constituents play a role in Reishi’s immune boosting capacity. The polysaccharides in Reishi appear to attach cancerous cells, but not healthy ones. Polysaccharides also appear to help the body fight off microbial invaders such as viruses, bacteria, and yeast.
Besides Reishi, there are many completely natural ways to boost, strengthen, and balance the body’s immune system. Astragalus, Codonopsis, and Ginseng have also proven valuable in boosting the fitness of the immune system. Most natural herbal supplements are the actual herb plant. It’s just dried and ground into a powdered form, then placed inside a gelcap. This means herbs are like condensed, super strenth vegetables. They can provide you with a wealth of various nutrition, vitamins and essential minerals the body needs to keep the immune system strong and remain healthy.
Besides herbs, there are many things you can do such as changes in dietary habits, fitness levels, and other lifestyle changes. Food and dietary habits are one of the best ways to boost the body’s immune system, because many of the modern day problems with our immune systems are caused by poor nutrition and eating habits.
Consider buying more organic food so your body will have fewer toxins to process. When you purposely add toxins in the form of smoking, drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, and eating a lot of junk foods, your body has to do extra work trying to clear that out. When the body focuses its energy on clearing out extra toxins, there’s less energy to focus on fighting bacteria, germs and viruses.
Your fitness levels are an important part of keeping your body’s immune system healthy too. When you are in shape physically, you tend to have more muscle and much less fat. And this makes all of the standard body functions operate at more efficient capacities.
You don’t have to have a lot of muscle bulk for this to work either, you simply need to tone your muscles, trim the excess fat, and be more active. When your body is more fit, the blood flows better, the heart is stronger, and toxins are being filtered out of your system more efficiently, so your body is better able to deal with viruses and bacteria and other problems we all come across each day.

A low fat diet is very important for a strong immune system. Excess fat hampers the ability of the body to fight off bacteria and free radicals..

Thanks!
Hey I love this post. Very useful. Keeping a healthy immune system is our weapon in our battle against any kind of illness. So be very careful of what we eat, have enough sleep and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Yes there are many people I see that get sick or are sick quite a bit of the time and then there are those that are what I call oxes, they just never get sick, and they are normally doing very physical work. I think proper nutrition, sleep, and the physical activity is the key to the good immune system.
As we know “A Healthy Body Rests In Healthy Mind”, if we are in peace then our immune system too is strengthened. And above all the capability of heart is also important. And for a healthy heart a balanced diet and proper nutrition is essential…:)
