I have no idea why people use disposable diapers given their cost, environmental impact. New cloth diapers are easy to use and have cute accessories to boot (I love my bummi's and snappi's). My kids never had any rash. Part of it was probably that I changed them every 2 hours. It was more work using cloth, but worth it. If there are diaper services in your area, a great gift for the new parents is 3 months (or more) of diaper service.
