Thanks for this informative article. It’s good to start with natural means like herbs and nutrients that you have mentioned to support health. We are so used to being medicated for everything. Many of these medications have side effects, especially with long term use. Besides taking herbs and nutrients, here are a few practical tips that will also help: Watch your weight and your diet (include plenty of fruits and vegetables). Limit your intake of salt as well as alcoholic beverages. A 30-minute walk or light exercise, or even gardening, can help release stress and tension. Take a triple strength fish oil supplement every day – it has many other benefits besides supporting heart health. For those who can’t stand the fishy after-burps try one with an enteric coating, like Triple Strength Omega 3. And last but not least – laugh a lot! Statistics show that those who laugh a lot worry less and have better health!

One of the most common and most effective natural ways to remedy hypertension is through lifestyle changes. Making simple changes to your daily routine can have a great impact on your wellness. Some simple changes that can lower high blood pressure include exercising, dietary changes, quitting smoking, and reducing stress levels.

You are absolutely correct about traditional doctors getting more involved in open minded about herbal and more natural remedies. I recently started seeing an internist with a private practice who is specializing in BHRT and nutrition and she has made some great suggestions along the lines of supplements based on my blood work. I like the approach she has, she is focused on what works in the most natural way but uses a lot of tradition tools such as blood test to make dosing recommendations. The other real difference is she is focused on prevention as much or more than cure and that is the shift that I hope happens with more doctors.

Great info. I also have problems with (high) blood pressure, and found that garlic works the best, at least for me. I also just wanted to add that leek (Allium porrum) is also known to reduce blood pressure in a similar way garlic does, so one can benefit from this herb too.
